OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Congratulations on your new DUG Purist watch!
This model combines Glashütte craftsmanship with the modern precision of the DUG 400.
Please note the following technical note:
Winding by hand : Your Purist is water resistant to 100 meters, so you can wear your watch on almost any occasion. At the same time, we want to make it as comfortable to use as possible. We have therefore found a solution so that, despite the watch being water resistant, you do not have to go to the trouble of unscrewing the crown every time you use it. The water resistance is ensured by a special seal rather than a screw connection. If operating the crown feels a little harder than expected, this is due to the seal and is not a fault.
Basically, a few turns of the crown are enough to generate enough power before wearing the watch. Alternatively, you can put the watch on and generate a few turns of the rotor with a hand movement.
automatic movement - DUG 400
The DUG 400 is based on the Swiss caliber SW 400 from Sellita. Parts of the movement are manufactured in Glashütte and, above all, the complete decoration of the parts, assembly, adjustment and inspection are carried out there by experienced watchmakers at the workbench. This is how it becomes the DUG 400.
Automatic: Your watch is powered by the energy generated by your arm movements. Each movement causes the rotor to turn and this winds the movement. The watch has a power reserve of around 40 hours. If you don't wear the watch for a while and it stops, you can simply wind it by hand using the crown: To do this, turn the crown clockwise around 20 times. You can then set the watch to the correct time.
Technical data
- Caliber : DUG 400, automatic
- Frequency : 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz)
- Stones : 26
- Power reserve : The power reserve of our watches with the DUG 400 is approximately 40 hours. This means that once fully wound, the watch will run accurately for 40 hours without rewinding.
- Functions : Hour, minute and second display (central), date (optional)
service
The crown of your watch has three positions:
1st position – normal position
- Clock runs normally.
- Manual winding : Turn the crown clockwise to wind the movement manually. This is useful if the watch has not been worn for a long period of time.
2nd position – date setting
(only for versions with optional date)
- Pull the crown out slightly.
- Turn the crown clockwise to set the date.
- Caution : Avoid adjusting the date between 10:00 p.m. and 3:00 a.m. to avoid damaging the movement.
3rd position – time setting
- Pull the crown out completely.
- The second hand stops (second stop function) to enable precise adjustment.
- Turn the crown to set the time.
- After adjustment, push the crown back in completely.
band change
Changing our straps is very easy and requires no tools. All of our watch straps have a practical quick-change system that allows for uncomplicated replacement in just a few seconds. The quick-change system also allows the use of standard straps from other manufacturers with the usual 20 mm lug width. This gives you many options for further customizing your watch.
care and maintenance
water resistance
Your watch is water resistant to 100 meters (10 atm). It is therefore suitable for everyday activities such as showering, swimming or snorkeling, but not for extreme diving or deep sea diving. (The lowest values are measured without pressure peaks, such as those that occur during movement when swimming. As a rule of thumb: 30 meters for washing hands, 50 meters for showering, 100 meters for swimming / snorkeling). The stainless steel case and the stainless steel strap are rustproof. Please note, however, that water, especially sea water, can accelerate the aging process of the leather strap. The watch and metal strap should be rinsed with fresh water after contact with salt water. Check the water resistance annually, especially after impacts or repairs.
cleaning
Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to clean the case.
Service / Maintenance
A mechanical watch needs to be serviced at intervals, just like a bicycle or car, for example. The intervals depend on individual use.
We recommend that you have a watchmaker check the watch's values every 5 years. You can have the service carried out by an independent local watchmaker or you can send the watch directly to us.
