THE development of the PURist
Many people are enthusiastic about the watchmaking craftsmanship in Glashütte, but not about its price.
Our mission: To break new ground.
The Beginnings - Idea and Inspiration
The vision was clear: to offer a high-quality Glashütte watch at an amazingly affordable price and yet
to meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality - bearing the Glashütte seal and Made in Germany. This is our interpretation of contemporary watchmaking. A project that we pursue with conviction and dedication.
The development
The development of the Purist took over 2 years from the idea to the finished model. A particular challenge was to implement the demanding details that were defined before the watch was created without making any compromises.
A true purist
With the Purist model, we offer you a watch that is made on the workbench in Glashütte, but is affordable. This way, you can secure your share of the fascination of Glashütte. Your watch can accompany you everywhere and on every occasion. It is a watch for everything - a true purist.
Versatile
On the one hand, its size, shape and details are designed in such a way that it is classically elegant and refers to the long tradition, but at the same time is compatible with many personal styles. To make the model your own personal watch, you can put together your own configuration from the options and, thanks to the quick-change system, you can change the strap yourself at any time without tools.
Made for everyday use
On the other hand, your watch is water resistant to 100 meters and has shock protection. It accompanies you on elegant occasions, but you don't have to take it off when swimming or cycling.
You can tell the quality of a watch by looking at the details. We would like to present a selection in more detail
All variants of the PURIST
The Purist is available as Type 1 (line indices) and Type 2 (number indices). You can also choose the dial color (onyx black, moon white and royal blue) and decide whether you want a date display at 6 o'clock.
DETAILS
Made in Glashütte / Germany
Glashütte has been synonymous with the highest level of watchmaking worldwide since 1845. Your watch proudly bears the name "Glashütte" on the dial. It meets the strict criteria for this designation of origin, which were clearly defined by the federal government in the so-called Glashütte Ordinance.
case finish
A three-part case, as used in the Purist, is more complex to manufacture, but allows for more precise processing and gives the watch a robust structure and an elegant appearance at the same time. A flawless case finish with an elaborate bevel is the icing on the cake of the DUG Purist. The polished and brushed surfaces create a play of light and shadow that further underlines the noble character of the watch.
Double anti-reflective sapphire crystal
The dial is protected by a slightly domed sapphire crystal. Sapphire crystal is characterized by its hardness and is almost impervious to scratches - almost like a diamond. So that your view of the details of the dial is not obscured by
To avoid reflections, the sapphire crystal was not only coated inside, but
anti-reflective on both sides
Applied indices or numbers
A detail that underlines the exclusivity: the applied indexes give the dial depth and ensure a sophisticated look. Compared to printed indexes, this technique is more complex and noticeably enhances the dial. Hold the watch at an angle and experience the three-dimensional shape of the "face" of your watch.
Swiss Super-LumiNova®
To make the watch easy to read even in the dark, extra-strong Swiss Super-LumiNova® is embedded in the indexes as a luminous element. The unmistakable face of the Purist with the striking index at 12 o'clock is thus preserved even in the dark.
Caliber DUG 400 / Sapphire crystal case back
A look through the sapphire crystal case back reveals the carefully decorated and rhodium-plated DUG 400 movement. Each individual movement is assembled and adjusted by hand in Glashütte. This care is reflected in the elaborate watchmaking finish with blued screws, perlage and bevelled edges. The rotor, precision-made in Glashütte, gives the Purist an additional personal, luxurious touch and sets it apart from the competition in its price segment.
Matching colored date disc
A small but significant detail: the date disc is not in a standard color, but has been specially adapted for the Purist and the various dial colors. This is a complex, manual process that involves washing, priming and reprinting each individual disc. This detail creates a harmonious overall picture and underlines the attention to detail that has gone into this watch.
quick-change system for the straps
The quick-change system on the strap allows you to change the strap effortlessly and without tools, depending on whether you prefer a metal or leather strap. This means the watch can be quickly adapted to different occasions or styles.
